Ergobaby Helps Honor Military Families at Operation Shower

Operation_Shower_CT1This month, we had the honor of participating in the Operation Shower/Birdies for the Brave group baby shower for 40 military moms-to-be whose spouses are deployed members of the U.S. Navy, Naval Submarine School and Connecticut Army National Guard.  Ergobaby is excited to support several Operation Shower events, providing carriers for deserving moms as part of their signature “Shower in a Box.”  We are proud to be among other supporting sponsors, such as Travelers, the Travelers Championship, Petunia Pickle Bottom, 4moms and “Extra.”

“Extra” correspondent and expectant mom Hilaria Thomas Baldwin was on hand to help honor local military families as a host.  Baldwin, who is expecting her first child in a few months with her husband, Alec Baldwin said of the event, “Preparing for a baby is incredibly exciting, but can also be very expensive.  I’m so proud to be able to support and spend time with these military moms-to-be while providing them with the necessities for welcoming their new bundles of joy into the world.”

We were thrilled to be a part of the highlight of the event; the presentation of Operation Shower’s signature “Shower in a Box.”  Each mom received an array of unique, high-quality products and gift items for mothers and babies.  From onesies and baby bottles to clothing, crib bedding, diaper bags and Ergobaby Baby Carriers, the gifts help raise the spirits of the moms-to-be, many of whom would not otherwise had the opportunity to experience a baby shower.

“For military wives who are expecting a baby and whose spouses are deployed or soon to be deployed, the impending arrival of a child can be both exciting and stressful,” said Operation Shower Founder and Chief Shower Officer LeAnn Morrissey.  “Operation Shower was created specifically because typically military moms are the ones who hold it all together at home.  Without their spouses by their side, deployed to another part of the world, these moms deserve our support, our thanks, our love and an opportunity to celebrate together.”

We are thrilled to participate in this and other Operation Shower events, to show our appreciation for military moms-to-be.  Their service and sacrifice deserve to be recognized just as much as those on the front lines, and we are delighted to help do that through these special shower events.
