Ergobaby Everyday | The Wiesmayr-Peters Family

Indigo skies, salty air, good surf, sandy toes and family.  That’s the perfect recipe for happiness for the Wiesmayr-Peters family.  Working together to run a little adventurer brand for kids called South Corner Kids, they incorporate kids, family and love into everything they do.

Tell us about your family. We are the Wiesmayr-Peters':   Mark, Eileen, Indigo and our dog Hank (plus baby number 2 on the way).  I'd say we definitely fit the SoCal beach family criteria... we live about a block from the beach and spend most of our free time there.  Mark is a Creative Director and runs his own consulting business and Eileen is a model.  We also are run a little adventurer brand for kids called South Corner Kids. What does a typical day in your family look like? A typical day is spent with the usual ins and outs of running the dog on the beach in the morning, getting breakfast on the table and trying to get as much done as possible.  So as any parent knows- its CRAZY.  Ha.  But we try and get some down time in at the beach, which always helps even things out especially at sunset. How does your family stay connected? Honestly we just try and spend as much quality time together as possible.  Its hard sometimes because we spread ourselves thin especially since we started South Corner Kids on top of everything else.  Staying present is the key. Tell us about your happy place or What brings you joy? Our happy place is being TOGETHER!  But, I suppose the icing on the cake is when there is sand and surf involved in that equation. Photo credit: @here_now_sometimesthenmore
What kind of memories do you want to create for your child? Adventures!  We want to create big adventures, ones of love and never ending new sights.  Being creative and artistic and appreciating the arts together. Photo credit: @here_now_sometimesthenmore
Where do you call home? Or What does home mean for your family? Venice, California is home.  it has been for the last 10 years.  For us home means a lot of laughing, good food, great friends and group hugs. Photo credit: @here_now_sometimesthenmore
How do you make a home for your family? We surround ourselves with things that make us happy;   light, art from friends, things we collect from the beach and a lot of plants. Photo credit: @here_now_sometimesthenmore
If you or your partner works, how does your work affect or inspire your family? Or the other way around?    Mark is creative for his work, and that spills into everyday life.  We like to creating things and just having fun and that feels like its all a part of it. How do you stay connected when away from home? We couldnt do it with out FaceTime. We use it on an almost daily basis with the grandparents in Oregon and Australia too. It helps us feel more connected in the day to day. Photo credit: @darcyhemleycasuccimore
Describe your parenting style. I don't know what parenting "style" we have. We just try to be aware and conscious and communicate. Indigo is still quite young, barely a toddler really and we find that constant narration for him about what we are doing and what is happening is really helpful. And of course surrounding him with love and support in whatever way that means. Photo credit: @here_now_sometimesthenmore
