From the very beginning, Ergobaby was created around the idea of community. When Karin Frost first designed the Original carrier, she believed that raising children in a village of support was important, and a baby carrier was a helpful tool that made participation possible. Postpartum, many families are overwhelmed with the amount of support they receive early on, but suddenly when a partner returns to work, or family leaves town, they find themselves feeling very isolated. We know that Postpartum Depression is becoming increasingly common, with 1 in 7 mothers receiving a diagnosis, with many more not receiving the diagnosis and support they need. Fathers are experiencing it also, some studies saying as high as 1 in 4.

With all this in mind, Ergobaby is thrilled to announce the creation of an online support group, not just for baby carrying, but for all things parenting, Ergobaby: Love Carries On. It is an inclusive space open to all on this journey of caregiving, where questions about carriers are of course welcome, but so are questions about feeding, sleep, and self-care, moderated by Certified Babywearing Educators, Postpartum Doulas and Lactation Educators who are mothers themselves. Please help us in welcoming this community, join us as we share this journey together, a community a long time in the making. Laura is the Educator + Community Outreach at Ergobaby. With almost a decade of experience teaching, Laura’s warmth, passion and knowledge on baby carriers and their use is unrivaled. Her genuine, down to Earth nature will put any parent at ease, and leave them with the tools they need to keep baby close and comforted. In addition to being a Certified Babywearing Educator, she is also a Full Spectrum Doula, Lactation Educator and Car Seat Tech (CPST). Her varied experience and unique background building and creating communities, as well as mentoring educators and professionals, enables her to speak confidently on a variety of babywearing and postpartum related subjects at the consumer and professional level.
