As new parents, finding ways to stay true to your authentic self in your new role as a parent can feel overwhelming and isolating. Join us, in partnership with Rothy’s and Girlfriend Collective, for a day of wellness workshops as we explore ways in which parents can incorporate self-care into their new routine. Connect, move, and learn as you find new ways in which parenting fits to your life.

Meet Aerloom, the first-of-its-kind, FormaKnit™ baby carrier made to move, stretch and fit your daily life. Celebrate the launch of this carrier by joining us for this day of wellness.

There will be three (3) sessions. Once you register, you can choose to attend one, two, or all three! Choose the sessions that fit to your life.

For each registration, we will donate one (1) baby carrier to Baby2Baby, up to 200.

Schedule

The day will be broken up into three sessions. Once registered, feel free to attend one or all of the sessions. We want this workshop to “fit to your life”! Please “come as you are,” breastfeeding OK, in yoga pants, etc. Please be comfortable and have your water and snacks handy.

Breathwork: Ashley Neese

Ashley Neese is a renowned breathwork teacher and author of How To Breathe. She has studied with some of the world’s leading masters in yoga, meditation, medical intuition and somatic therapy. Ashley draws from this deep well of resources to guide people back into their bodies where they learn beyond the cognitive mind how to cultivate resilience, develop relational intelligence and trust the wisdom held within. Her passion lies in the belief that our deepest and most profound healing occurs when we learn to listen to the unique language of our bodies. She is in private practice in the foothills of Yosemite in California.

Yoga: Nicole Sessions

Nicole Sessions is a women’s reproductive support specialist, health and wellness practitioner, folk herbalist, educator, writer and actress. She received her 200 hour level yoga instructor training through YogaWorks in Los Angeles, and began teaching yoga in 2007. After leading the grand opening of two yoga studios in Los Angeles, and teaching privately and at several gyms, Nicole became a mother and a doula. This powerful initiation into motherhood inspired her to dive deeper into the modalities of breathwork and meditation, which she incorporates into her classes and practice.  Nicole’s classes are alignment based, joy-inspiring flowing meditations, meant to connect us to stillness, inner wisdom and deeper embodiment. She believes that as we tend to and nourish ourselves, our healing ripples out, creating more opportunities to connect, thrive and experience peace.

Deepika Chopra

Deepika Chopra, OPTIMISM DOCTOR®, Visual Imagery & Media Expert, and founder of Things Are Looking Up™, specializes in what she has coined, “evidence based manifestation”. Her work has been featured in Forbes, Harpers Bazaar, VOGUE, GOOP, Variety, E!, NBC, etc… and she has partnered with companies such as FISHER PRICE, IHeartMedia, BeautyCounter and many more. Dr. Chopra specializes in bridging together holistic practices and evidence based science to cultivate self mastery tools to help clients, couples and corporations (Fortune 500 to small businesses) cultivate their own sense of lasting happiness, resiliency, optimism and success. The Optimism Doctor® practices from very unique perspective as she is able to talk to the robust health wellness trends of today and provide real evidence based science and experience. Dr. Chopra holds a doctorate in clinical health psychology, with a special interest in mind-body connection, sensory based visual imagery, color therapy, innovative cognitive behavioral strategies and strategies and methods to increase optimism and resilience.

 

ThaooAishat Hasati

ThaooAishat Hasati is a birth worker who values the connection of womb health relating to overall health; physical, mental and spiritual. She has been in birth work for over 15 years, wanting to gain more knowledge on women’s health after attending the births of friends and the birth of her first child. She has studied and been trained under Kemetic Priests learning philosophy, spirituality, and healing arts. She is a trained Full Spectrum Doula, Certified Innate Postpartum Care Provider, Certified Vaginal Steam Facilitator and budding Herbalist. In addition to birth work she is also an artist, wife, mother of 5 including her bonus son.

 

Emily Little

Emily Little, PhD, CLEC, is a perinatal health educator, researcher, and advocate, and is the Founder and Executive Director of Nurturely (nurturely.org). She completed her PhD at University of California, San Diego in experimental psychology with a specialization in anthropogeny. Emily conducts community-participatory research that combines approaches from anthropology, psychology, and public health to explore infant-caregiver interaction and perinatal health systems, with the end goal of improving policies and societal practices so all infants and caregivers can thrive. She is trained as a Certified Lactation Educator Counselor and is passionate about co-creating preventative, community-led programs that facilitate equitable access to wellness during the perinatal period. Her work in Micronesia, Central and South America, and India inspired her passion for strengthening cultures of support for infants and caregivers and promoting equity in all aspects of her work. 

Jessica Kramer

Jessica’s work emerges out of 17 years working as a birth doula and homebirth midwife assistant, her background as a massage therapist, the practice of Somatic Experiencing® (SE), her study of relational psychotherapy, a deep belief in the value of touch in the healing process, and her own healing process. She integrates the latest research in medicine, interpersonal neurobiology, and extensive study of early development. Drawing from her years working in the fields of pregnancy, childbirth, and the postnatal year, and incorporating post-advanced study of therapeutic touch in SE®, Jessica understands the human desire to survive and thrive. Approaching each client with a deep respect for their unique experience, Jessica orients toward preverbal and nonverbal experiences that emerge in her collaborative work with clients, allowing a sense of regulation and wellbeing to surface. Her focus is on the ways in which physical development emerge from the relational experiences of the early years of life. Working as an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist, allows her to recognize the value of insight into one’s patterns and making the unconscious conscious, but her focus is on effecting change from within the body to support her clients to experience themselves, their lives, their relationships, and their understanding of their children as more whole. Jessica’s practice focuses on supporting mother-baby/toddler dyad, resolving interruption and struggles during the perinatal year, and supporting those who experience chronic health issues.

Movement/Dance: Michelle Brugal


Michelle Brugal is a professional dancer and fitness instructor based in New York City. Her experience as a performer on Broadway, appearances alongside world-renowned artists, dancing on screen, and passion for movement led her to create brugalbodymoves. This beat-driven method blends dance, sculpt, and barre, and focuses on execution and form to build a strong and agile body. Prior to branching out on her own, Michelle was a highly sought after trainer at elite boutique fitness studios like Tracy Anderson Method and Flywheel Sport’s Flybarre. Michelle is a NASM certified personal trainer and pre and postnatal exercise specialist. She lives in Brooklyn with her partner and two kids (Luna 2, Elio 6 months).
