Celebrate & Educate: Black Babywearing Week and Dads

Happy June, we are well on our way to Summer.  This week, there is a lot to celebrate and learn. We kick off Black Babywearing Week, which runs June 13-19 this year, and end the week with Juneteenth and Father’s Day.  What is Black Babywearing Week, according to their founders, BBW is “here to uplift and inspire black babywearers and to unify our community of black educators, bloggers and black-owned babywearing companies. We are here to make babywearing carriers, options, and education available and accessible to all black caregivers.  We are here to bring light to our history and embrace the future of black babywearing.”

During the week, we will be talking to the founders, amplifying stories, and sharing resources. If you haven’t already, please take a moment to read why Black Babywearing Week is important. We will be going live Wednesday June 16 with the founders of Black Babywearing week.

Celebrate Black Joy on Juneteenth

At its heart, Juneteenth is a day to celebrate and amplify Black joy.

It’s a celebration of the journey and freedom of Black people in the US. It’s a wonderful opportunity to highlight the many contributions that Black people have made to American culture. We also want to share Black Joy! We put together a Black Joy playlist here.

In observance of Juneteenth, we will close our offices and distribution centers on Friday, June 18. We have rescheduled our content so that our employees may have the day off to educate, rest, and celebrate Black joy. Here are some resources for education and amplification.

Celebrate Dads

This weekend is also Father’s Day.  Some of our favorite dads will take over our IG to celebrate and uplift dad’s stories.  Additionally, to help dad get outside this summer with baby, we will be offering  30% off all Cool Air Mesh Omni 360 and 360 baby carriers starting June 16 through June 20.
