Hello, February! If you’re like me you probably set goals at the beginning of the year and if you’re like me one of them was probably to be more active. How is that going for you? Did you know that only around 64%* of people maintain their New Years Resolution past the first month and only 46%* past the second month? Now don’t you want to be in the 46% and going strong? Well I’m here to tell you that you can with a little support and motivation you can accomplish your New Years Resolution this year!
Now if you are reading this you must have an Ergobaby Carrier or are at least considering getting yourself one (go do it!) and let me tell you it is so worth it especially when you want to get out and be active. One of my favorite thing to do is strap my daughter in the carrier right around nap time and we get out for some fresh air and she has a nap while I get in a nice long walk. Walking with the your baby in a carrier takes walking up a notch because you have an 8lb+ baby on the front of you adding resistance and increasing the amount of calories that you burn.
In addition to going on walks with the Ergo on you can also do a stairs workout and work on toning your legs and getting those buns of steel you always wanted. You can also lift weights with your baby in the Ergo or if getting outdoors is more your thing you can head out for a nice hike in the woods. I have even heard of some mom and baby workout classes that have you wear your baby in a carrier while you do strength training- talk about a good workout!
If you really want to accomplish your goals set up a plan for yourself and make sure you let those around you know your goals so that you can have their support. Also if you can find a friend, maybe another babywearing mom or dad, to get out and take those nice long walks with you. You can get some adult chit-chat in while you get a workout done and your baby gets some fresh air; sounds like a win-win-win to me!

I switched my resolution--we can do that, right?--from eating an all-organic diet (bahaha...sigh) to learning Spanish. This is kind of a cop-out, because we moved to Costa Rica for the year...so it's almost impossible NOT to pick up a healthy dose of the language necessities.
Anyhow, about wearing the baby in the Ergo and toning the legs---so true! Since moving here, I hike around to the bus, around the city, etc, everyday... and man, my calves are SORE almost every night! No need for a gym, when I've got an Ergo and chubby munchkin to wear!
We just moved across the country and into a new home that is on the third level....with no elevator. My legs have never been so toned!
