Stella Maria Baer is a painter and photographer. She and her husband live with their three children in Santa Fe. After each of her babies’ births she’s tried to take as much time as possible to rest and heal as they discover their new rhythm in between their old life and new life. As a family they go for daily walks at sunrise and sunset. These walks are a grounding time for their family, a practice of wonder. When her newest, Winona was four months old, Stella gathered dirt for the first time to make paint and begin her art again. She remembers how it feels to get back to get craft and it’s a bit like fumbling around in the dark, but eventually she finds her way back again.
