Ergobaby is Home Week of August 3

World Breastfeeding Week is this week, August 1-7. The theme this year is “Support Breastfeeding for a Healthier Planet.” World Breastfeeding Week is celebrated every year from 1 to 7 August to encourage breastfeeding and improve the health of babies around the world. Increasing breastfeeding to near-universal levels could save more than 800 000 lives every year, the majority being children under 6 months. There are so many benefits to breastfeeding, including to the environment.

Facts about breastmilk and the environment:

– Breast milk is made by the human body and it will always be available for a baby.

– No packaging, shipping, or disposal necessary.

– Less waste in landfills and less pollution.

Throughout the entire month, we’ll be talking to different experts about breastfeeding. This week, we are honored to have our friends and IBCLC’s Jennifer Lezak and Jadah Chatterjee discussing the impact of infant feeding and the promotion of breastfeeding on the environment, climate change, and the health of all people.

We also have a wealth of breastfeeding tips, myths & facts, and stories on our blog, be sure to check out the resources below.
