How does the Belly Bandit Belly Shield Work?
The Belly Bandit Belly Shield is made from patented WonderWeave™ fabric that keeps lotions on your skin throughout the day, while protecting your clothing from absorption. This pregnancy tummy shield is lightweight and breathable (perfect for sensitive skin), and stays in place underneath your belly wrap or maternity support belt.
How do I wear the Belly Shield?
During pregnancy, many women suffer from dry, itchy skin on their bellies (not to mention the discomfort that comes from developing stretch marks). This pregnancy tummy shield allows you to apply your favorite lotion or cream, then slip the Belly Bandit Belly Shield comfortably over your bump.
After pregnancy, this tummy shield works as a great way to keep your recovering skin moisturized. It can also be easily thrown in the wash, allowing you to wash your postpartum belly wrap less frequently.
Can I use the Belly Shield post pregnancy?
Yes! This pregnancy tummy shield can be worn postpartum as well. Many women find it especially helpful during the first six to eight weeks after delivery, as an extra layer of protection for sensitive skin.
Does the Belly Shield provide benefit for c section recovery?
Absolutely. The Belly Bandit Belly Shield acts as a great barrier between your incision and your supportive postpartum wrap (and other clothing). Keep bandages in place, and keep your incision clean and dry with this protective tummy shield.
What type of material is the Belly Shield made of?
The Belly Bandit Belly Shield is made from our revolutionary WonderWeave™ material. This proprietary fabric is soft, lightweight, breathable and keeps lotions and creams from soaking through.
Does the Belly Shield provide compression?
No. This tummy shield does not provide any compression, which is why it can be worn safely both during and after pregnancy. However, it does provide gentle support—making it comfortable for all-day wear.
For postpartum compression, we recommend a belly wrap, as well as our Mother Tucker line of leggings and shorts.
