We are deeply saddened by the escalation of Anti-Asian violence in communities in the United States. We stand in solidarity with our Asian communities - from the most vulnerable newborn to the grandparents who look after our young ones. We stand with Asian families and we stand for raising a generation of better humans that are resilient, empathetic, anti-racist, inclusive, and welcoming. To that end, we are donating to a foundation that supports Asian and Pacific Islander families in the US and are continuing the conversations and pulling together resources and content to share with our community of families, to support and educate.
Ergobaby is making a donation to the Center for the Pacific Asian Family. This is an organization local to our headquarters in Los Angeles, CA that was founded to address violence in the Asian and Pacific Islander communities.
Because we are a community of parents, we always start from a position of educating at home, because that is particularly relevant to families with little ones. We believe that’s where we can have the biggest impact and empower our community.
Reading is such a great way to begin. Here is a list of recommended books from Shuli de la Fuente-Lau from Asian Lit for Kids and Little Feminist Book Club to help parents start conversations early about empathy, non-violence, anti-racism, equality, and inclusion.
