Let's start at the beginning, how to use the Adapt baby carrier with a newborn! It's the best baby carrier in our humble opinion for the super-special fourth trimester newborn snuggles.

Everyday, we hear stories from our fans about the longevity and durability of our carrier. "I've used the Ergobaby baby carrier for over six years and through three kids!" is a common refrain we hear! We'd love to invite you to join our private community to get your input for new mamas and to hear your stories and post them on our social media for #ThrowbackThursday. While our carriers are built to last and constructed for durability, here are a few tips to extend the life of your carrier.
Teething Pads
Most babies, once they start teething, suck on the straps of the carrier. It’s right there, ready for tiny mouths, who can blame them? The PH of their saliva even changes as teething begins. Did you know that you can get

From the very beginning, Ergobaby was created around the idea of community. When Karin Frost first designed the Original carrier, she believed that raising children in a village of support was important, and a baby carrier was a helpful tool that made participation possible. Postpartum, many families are overwhelmed with the amount of support they receive early on, but suddenly when a partner returns to work, or family leaves town, they find themselves feeling very isolated. We know that Postpartum Depression is becoming increasingly common, with 1 in 7 mothers receiving a diagnosis, with many more not receiving the diagnosis and support they need. Fathers are experiencing it also, some studies saying as high as 1 in 4.
With all this in mind, Ergobaby is thrilled to announce the creation of an online support group, not just for baby carrying,

While most new mamas love breastfeeding time with their new little one, most also look forward to the day their partner can take part in feeding the baby, too (usually late at night so mom can get a little sleep!) So naturally a burning question on many new parents’ minds is: When is it okay to give my baby a bottle?
Most experts agree that if things are going well with breastfeeding, and there is no indication or medical reason that your baby needs to be supplemented or fed with a bottle, it is in your breastfeeding and baby’s best interest to hold off for approximately 3 to 4 weeks before introducing bottle feeding. By following this general guideline, you will have well established your breastfeeding routine. After about a month, you will have let the baby dictate your milk supply before introducing something new. However, if you wait too long—usually more than 6 weeks—there is a risk that your baby may refuse the bottle.
To feed your baby via a bottle, parents can use either expressed

Once she’s born, your baby first learns about scent, touch, sight, hearing, taste and trust —along with many other things—from being right there against you. She came from you. And now that she’s here, skin to skin, also known as Kangaroo Care, is a way to maintain that unique closeness you and baby shared when she was in your womb.
When naked baby is put right onto mom’s bare chest, skin to skin, she is usually happier. Remember in the womb, your baby didn’t have to regulate her temperature. So right there next to you helps her stay nice and cozy.
In my experience, babies who are allowed more time skin to skin have better weight gain than those who are not. They literally have access to mom’s breast milk whenever they want it. They also don’t have to use their calories to regulate their own temperatures — they use their energy to grow. This means a happier infant with a stable heart and breathing rate.

Patiently awaiting the arrival of your new bundle of joy can often be easier said than done. Many soon-to-be moms in their third trimester are more than ready to have their baby join them on the outside of the womb. Pack Your Hospital Bag EARLY
Don’t wait until the last minute to gather all of your gear to head to the hospital! Ensure you’re cool, calm, and collected (at least as much as possible) by creating a list of everything you want to take with you, and have those bags packed and placed in the trunk of your car by 35 weeks. Don’t forget stuff for your partner, too! You never know when you might go into labor, so it’s best to have your bags somewhere close by at all times. Not sure what to pack? Here’s

Our friend Emily, a seasoned mama, shares what to pack when traveling with baby. There are plenty of pockets in the new Ergobaby Diaper Bag!
First thing, if you’re on baby duty wear slip-on shoes. Something you can do absolutely hands-free. Thank Heavens for the mule trend! Mine are from here.
Binky Clips – Do you know you’ll drop your baby’s pacifier on average 30 times more in a crowded airport or flight than you will in your everyday life. Just kidding, but I swear it always feels that way. Blinky Clips are a must.
Books, Toys, Passports, wallets. The Ergo Backpack has so many options but I love the open pocket (behind the logo) for the items I need to pull out most often while in lines.

Have twins? Or maybe you are babysitting? There are definitely times when the tandem carry comes in handy to carry two babies. When my daughter was about nine months old, I used to babysit an older baby, about 18 months. We lived upstairs and I often would put my daughter in a front baby carrier and the older baby on my back to go up and down the stairs and go for walks. Just keep in mind that the baby on your back needs to be able to sit up on her own before you can attempt the back carry. Also...practice the back carry itself before you try tandem carrying! This is not your beginner carry, but once you master the back carry, it's a great tool to have in your parenting tool kit!
