- Dress baby in layers. That way as the two of you heat up, you're able to remove layers quickly and easily. Keep baby in their footed pajamas, and layer their legs with adult socks or baby leg warmers. If it's very cold, be sure there is no exposed skin between baby's pants and socks. Cover their hands with socks or mittens.
- Consider using a winter weather cover, or a babywearing coat. Ergobaby's Winter Weather cover is the best- it's soft and water-resistant, and allow baby's legs to be completely covered while also offering a hood option. There are different babywearing coats on the market, but an easy and cost-effective way to use a coat over your carrier is to repurpose your maternity coat, or use a coat 1-2 sizes

Early on I knew something was unique about my son. Everything about him just seemed more intense than other babies his age. He cried a lot, seemed behind on his developmental milestones, everything about him was just “more” summarizes how I felt at the time, and babywearing kept us all together. Looking back now I realize that I was indeed suffering from postpartum depression and some PTSD, and carrying for a high needs infant seemed to exacerbate or increase the symptoms. Breastfeeding didn’t go well, I received some really terrible advice, and pumping seemed like a special kind of torture. So we didn’t, and then came on more guilt. Not the ideal birth, not breastfeeding? What kind of Mom was I? This is where the carrier came in. It got us outside the house, this was where Chandler was most happy, and cried the least. It took me awhile to get the confidence to get out, but once I did I realized how much happier we both were. We started with walks in the neighborhood. I tried
Just like in the Omni 360 baby carrier, once your baby is able to sit up on her own, you can face her out in the Omni 360 Cool Air Mesh. But, we've made it even easier with the Cool Air Mesh Sliders! (Other milestones to consider: Once your baby can see above the front panel of the carrier, has strong head & neck control, and has a natural curiosity to see and interact with the world, they are ready for front-outward carry. This is usually around 5-6 months, depending on your baby.) And since we know that you're a mama-on-the-go (what mom isn't?!), you want to be able to switch baby easily from facing in to facing out and back again (remember if baby is getting sleepy or over-stimulated, be sure to switch her back to facing you for a nap or to calm her down). Check out how to do the #quickswitch with the Omni 360 Cool Air Mesh Sliders!
We love these sweet "everyday" testimonials from mamas that are featured on a round-up by Black Moms Blog. I LOVE Ergo!! I literally take my carrier on every adventure! Baby wearing is very special to me! There is something very ancestral that awakens when I wear my baby. I imagine my foremothers walking through their village, with their babies on their back. Ergo allows me to not only “get stuff done,” but it allows me to connect with my baby on a tribal tip… comfortably. Read the entire post here on Black Moms Blog.
Emotional Benefits of Getting Outside
Spending time in nature with your baby can strengthen the bond between you. The simple act of holding your baby close, feeling their warmth, and sharing new experiences together can create strong emotional connections. It’s also a wonderful way to reduce stress and improve your mood. When my littles were extra fussy, I’d take a walk around the neighborhood. Even though I don't live in an area with trails and surrounded
The Adapt carrier allows to carry your baby from those earliest cuddly moments well into toddlerhood (7-45lbs), all without the need for any additional inserts. Let's start at the beginning, how to use the Adapt baby carrier with a newborn! It's the best baby carrier in our humble opinion for the super-special fourth trimester newborn snuggles.

Everyday, we hear stories from our fans about the longevity and durability of our carrier. "I've used the Ergobaby baby carrier for over six years and through three kids!" is a common refrain we hear! We'd love to invite you to join our private community to get your input for new mamas and to hear your stories and post them on our social media for #ThrowbackThursday. While our carriers are built to last and constructed for durability, here are a few tips to extend the life of your carrier.
Teething Pads
Most babies, once they start teething, suck on the straps of the carrier. It’s right there, ready for tiny mouths, who can blame them? The PH of their saliva even changes as teething begins. Did you know that you can get teething pads for the straps, and there’s even a special teething pad and bib for the 360 baby carrier? That way, all you have to do is pop the teething pads in the wash after baby has a major suck session!

Have twins? Or maybe you are babysitting? There are definitely times when the tandem carry comes in handy to carry two babies. When my daughter was about nine months old, I used to babysit an older baby, about 18 months. We lived upstairs and I often would put my daughter in a front baby carrier and the older baby on my back to go up and down the stairs and go for walks. Just keep in mind that the baby on your back needs to be able to sit up on her own before you can attempt the back carry. Also...practice the back carry itself before you try tandem carrying! This is not your beginner carry, but once you master the back carry, it's a great tool to have in your parenting tool kit!

When your baby is about 5-6 months old and has strong head and neck control, you can try to face baby out in the All Position 360 Baby Carrier or the Omni 360 Baby Carrier. Be sure to watch for signs of over-stimulation and if baby gets sleepy, turn them back in (facing you). Our message is simple: follow your baby’s lead and respond to her cues. We acknowledge that parents know their babies best, so choose the position that works for you and your family. Once you've decided that facing your baby out is right for your baby, be sure to follow the tips below (not-so-subtle hint: USE THE GREY BUTTONS! 😂)
