Frequent skin-to-skin contact
No matter what the issue and the assessment plan includes at a consultation, undoubtedly I will recommend an increase in skin-to-skin time between feedings. This practice has been studied extensively and the benefits are astounding. Skin-to-skin contact can help regulate an infant’sIn honor of World Breastfeeding Week, National Breastfeeding Month and Black Breastfeeding Week, we reached out to our community to get breastfeeding tips. There are many amazing resources and support communities out there (both online and in person), and we invite you to get the support you need. In addition, we wanted to share some tips and advice from moms in our community. Baby carriers help the modern-day parent attend to their child’s needs while still getting on with their day. That’s why babywearing and breastfeeding often go hand-in-hand. It’s the ultimate convenience–feeding on the go! Help us celebrate World Breastfeeding Week (August 1-7, 2015 #WBW2015), National Breastfeeding Month (August #NBM15) and Black Breastfeeding Week (August 25-31, 2015 #BBW15) by showing your support. Please feel free to share any #ergobabynursing and #breastfeeding photos, either with the carrier or the Natural Curve Nursing Pillow; stories or advice
Breastfeeding a baby is hard work. With all the unrealistic portrayals of breastfeeding in the media and in parenting books, many new moms find themselves completely unprepared for the sheer quantity of time it takes to feed these little babies. For breastfeeding to work, those first few weeks (er… months) it really starts to feel like all you are doing is feeding the baby. Many mothers begin to feel overwhelmed. I remember firsthand, that my little Dragon Baby was a particularly enthusiastic nurser. I didn’t leave the house for weeks on end…. I couldn’t find time between feedings.
When I finally figured out how to nurse in an Ergobaby carrier, I felt like a breastfeeding master. It was so discreet, nobody even knew what I was doing. I’d be walking the aisles at Costco sipping on some soda, baby strapped to my boobs… no one batted an eye. People would come poke their head into my carrier and then yell out startled “Oh! I didn’t know you were doing that!” You're welcome for the show. Nobody
This post is from our Ergobaby Brand Ambassador Clara Aquino: A little list of must haves for parents of newborns (click the image above to view all of the item sources!): 1) Swaddlers They help to recreate that feeling of being snug in mama's belly; while also eliminating the need for blankets, which can be a risk for suffocation. Ergobaby swaddles are designed with a pocket at the bottom so you can easily change diapers while your little babe is still asleep. Genius. 2) A nursing pillow If you will be nursing your newborn, you'll find that you will officially become a walking, talking, milk machine.. I'm serious. It's pretty crazy how often you could be nursing your babe, so it's nice to have something that can support you and keep you + baby comfy during those long nights. Ergobaby has designed an amazing, supportive, nursing pillow that is firm and allows parents to be hands free (you don't need to rest your arm under baby like with other pillows) while nursing. It is two

Any clue what might cause one's water to break but labor not begin? I'd like to avoid this next go around.
First off let me state that I'm not a medical provider, so my approach advice will stem from a therapeutic and experiential standpoint. It's hard to pinpoint why the water may break without immediate onset of regular contractions, it could happen for a number of reasons. However when your water breaks, the first thing to do is to note the time, check the color ( should be clear), the amount ( trickle or gush) and odor ( there should be none) -- if those elements are noted and in the clear and you checked in with you care provider and they've give you the clear to stay at home until contractions/surges

With two teenagers and a baby under one roof, the Rios family balances a full plate everyday. A house full of good food, love and laughter, and a dash of Sephora, this family's positive vibes are contagious.
Tell us about your family.
My family keeps me very busy but I love them for it. My husband works from home for a computer company, my two step kids are busy high schoolers, and my baby Dillon eats non stop and won't stop growing! We all manage to live under one roof without killing each other… and we like it!
What does a typical day in your family look like?
A typical day… is never typical! Everyday is different for me. In the mornings though, my husband and I both wake up around 6am to have coffee and chat while the kids are still asleep. I then shower quickly, gulp down a smoothie, and crawl back into bed in time for baby Dillon to wake up to me smiling and attacking him with morning kisses. I work from home most days, so most of
