Breastfeeding a baby is hard work. With all the unrealistic portrayals of breastfeeding in the media and in parenting books, many new moms find themselves completely unprepared for the sheer quantity of time it takes to feed these little babies. For breastfeeding to work, those first few weeks (er… months) it really starts to feel like all you are doing is feeding the baby. Many mothers begin to feel overwhelmed. I remember firsthand, that my little Dragon Baby was a particularly enthusiastic nurser. I didn’t leave the house for weeks on end…. I couldn’t find time between feedings. When I finally figured out how to nurse in the Ergobaby baby carrier, I felt like a breastfeeding master. It was so discreet, nobody even knew what I was doing. I’d be walking the aisles at Costco sipping on some soda, baby strapped to my boobs… no one batted an eye. People would come poke their head into my carrier and

Newborn Essentials | @claravuaquino by ergobaby
This post is from our Ergobaby Brand Ambassador Clara Aquino:
A little list of must haves for parents of newborns (click the image above to view all of the item sources!):
1) Swaddlers
They help to recreate that feeling of being snug in mama's belly; while also eliminating the need for blankets, which can be a risk for suffocation. Ergobaby swaddles are designed with a pocket at the bottom so you can easily change diapers while your little babe is still asleep. Genius.
2) A nursing pillow
If you will be nursing your newborn, you'll find that you will officially become a walking, talking, milk machine.. I'm serious. It's

Air travel days are busy travel days often beginning with a frenzied blur of activity. Last minute packing, excitement for the upcoming trip, and a general “wrapping things up,” combined with early morning flights may mean sleep deprivation is the foundation and first impression of the family journey.
With our limited holiday travel time, it may be tempting to “hit the ground running” and plan a full itinerary beginning the moment we arrive at the destination. With kids, this may quickly backfire. Reality is, some well-planned quiet family time upon arrival may set the tone for a more relaxing and enjoyable vacation for all.
Children, even as young as infants, quickly sense a change in routine; being woken up earlier than normal, less cuddle time, and more rushing around with a quick breakfast or breakfast on the road. Mom or dad may be talking about tickets and house keys and flight status along with last minute packing inquiries. Tired parents combined with excited or overwhelmed

"Bedtimes around here are second only to mornings on my list of favorite times with my Simon boy. Simon is always so excited to have Marcus home from work, and Marcus is always ready to play with Simon and get all his giggles out, essentially wearing him out and getting him ready to hit the hay!
It's amazing how satisfying it is to look over and see your handsome husband pull out all the silly stops in order to get your sweet baby to squeal and squawk and giggle his little heart out. Nobody can make Simon laugh like his dad can. Seeing Marcus look like the biggest fool, which somehow also makes him look like the most attractive man in the world is fatherhood in a nutshell, I guess :)
(and just as a little bit of encouragement for new moms, those first few months are so sweet, but also so so hard, but when your baby starts to laugh, oh-my-gosh--it's like fairies are bursting out of their mouths and your heart is popcorn producing rainbows and the rainbows start pouring out
